How to Make False Lashes Last 30 Wears
Most people throw out strip lashes after three or four wears because of glue build-up and a flattened curve. Both are avoidable. Five habits that get a pair to 30.
Our strip lashes are handmade on a thin cotton band and rated for 30+ wears. The lashes themselves rarely give out first. What ends a pair early is glue build-up on the band, a flattened curve from a night on the dresser, and mascara. All three are habits, and all three are easy to change.
1. Take them off the right way
Hold the outer corner of the band and roll it inward, slowly. Never pull from the lash tips, and never tug a corner that is still stuck: a fingertip of water or oil-free remover on the band softens the glue and the lash comes away clean. This step alone is where most pairs get bent.
2. Peel the glue off the band
Once the pair is off, the dried glue is a thin strip along the band. Pinch one end with your fingers or tweezers and peel it off in one piece. Do this every time. A band with three layers of old glue sits higher, lifts sooner, and needs more glue next time, which is how the cycle starts.
3. No mascara on the falsies
Mascara stiffens the fibers and glues them into clumps that will not come out. If you want mascara, put it on your natural lashes before the strip goes on. Our styles have the volume built in, so you will not miss it.
4. Skip the soak
You do not need to wash strip lashes in water or micellar water after each wear, and soaking is what loosens the knots on the band. If a pair picks up makeup, roll a dry cotton swab along the band. That is it.
5. Store them in the box
The tray they came in is shaped to hold the curve. Press the band back into it after each wear. A pair left flat on a counter overnight loses its curve, and a flat band is the one that pops up at the corners.
The glue matters too
WyldHold is made for reusable lashes: it grips instantly and dries clear, and it peels off the band in one piece instead of crumbling. If you like a liner look, the QuickLash DUO pen is glue on one end and black liner on the other.
